Lower Elementary: Storybook Theater (LE.LA.1.DZ)
In this fun and interactive 5 week online class, students will use their imagination to create an original story together while building storytelling, speaking, and creative thinking skills!
Through games, drawing, character creation, movement, and storytelling activities, students will help invent characters, settings, problems, and exciting adventures as a group.
Each week, students will develop a different part of the story and practice sharing ideas, retelling events, and expressing characters using voices, facial expressions, and movement. The class will end with students sharing their very own original story creation together online!
This class encourages:
- Creative storytelling
- Beginning, middle, and end sequencing
- Character creation
- Speaking and listening skills
- Confidence and self-expression
- Imagination and collaboration
Students will participate in one live Zoom class each week along with a simple creative assignment such as drawing, storytelling, or character activities to continue the fun at home. It is expected that students will spend 1 to 2 hours outside of the zoom class on class material.
No experience needed, just imagination and a willingness to create!
