March - B1: Intro to Sewing
In this course students are introduced to the sewing machine and given instruction on how to use it. They are also introduced to basic sewing tools and materials. Students work on mastering basic stiches and seams.
Learning is guided by the completion of a simple tote bag.
Please arrive on time for each class, as instruction begins promptly and late arrivals may miss important demonstrations. Students are expected to come prepared and ready to work.
You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine if you prefer. Sewing machines will also be provided for students who do not have one or do not wish to transport theirs.
Students are responsible for providing fabric, thread, and any required materials when requested. Specific supply needs will be communicated in advance or during class, and students should bring the materials specified by the instructor.
Regular attendance, preparedness, and participation are essential to get the most out of the class.
Cancellations made more than two (2) weeks before the class start date are eligible for a full refund.
Cancellations made within the first five (5) days of the class are eligible for a prorated refund, minus a $40 administrative fee.
No refunds will be issued after the first five (5) days of class. In exceptional circumstances (such as medical emergencies), refunds or credits may be issued at the instructor’s discretion.
Some instructional materials will be provided in class, while additional resources (including videos, handouts, and supplemental content) will be available online. All students are required to create a Canvas account in order to access these materials.
After payment is completed, students will receive an email with instructions on how to create a Canvas account, along with an invitation to join the online course. Please be sure to complete this step prior to or at the start of class to ensure full access to course content.
If the student is a child, please use an email address that a parent or guardian can access and assist with, so the student can have their own individual Canvas profile.
